Kulu kente african bubu dress is part of our collection ESSINGAN, inspired by the mythic Cameroonian group Les Têtes Brûlées du Cameroun. Kulu stands for tortoise in Beti/Fang/Bulu language. It is a famous animal in Beti/Fang/Bulu tales. Kulu is known for its intelligence, its smartness. The tale of Kulu the tortoise and Alon the small snail, in Beti/Fang/Bulu culture was one of the inspirations of their mythic song “Essingan”. The bubu dress is asymmetrical (one shoulder bubu dress). A scarf is provided after request (extra charges may apply).
