Dressing well is an art form and we believe we have the pieces you need to create your masterpiece.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
I started Avant Accents in 2019 with the goal of building a brand for people like me who feel that an outfit isn’t truly complete without the right accessories and that often times it’s the accessories that allow us to express ourselves the best. This is why Avant Accents is centered around pieces that introduce you before you introduce yourself, accessories that serve as conversation starters. We have unique and eye-catching pieces that cater to both masculine and feminine styles and are Avant-Garde, yet affordable.
Our community supports us & we support our community.
COMMUNITY
We donate to the Equal Justice Initiative, an organization committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, as well as challenging racial and economic injustice, and protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
Founded in 1989 by Bryan Stevenson, a widely acclaimed public interest lawyer and bestselling author of Just Mercy, EJI provides legal representation to people who have been illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in state jails and prisons. They challenge the death penalty and excessive punishment and provide re-entry assistance to formerly incarcerated people.
EJI works with communities that have been marginalized by poverty and discouraged by unequal treatment. EJI is committed to changing the narrative about race in America.
Representation matters. Positive images of black people and other people of color should be more commonplace in our society.
DIVERSITY
In every aspect of Avant Accents in which we have an opportunity to work with people of color, we do so. We collaborate with models, photographers, graphic designers, manufacturers, etc., that are all people of color.
We keep diversity in mind in every step of the process, and not only diversity as it pertains to race. All underrepresented and marginalized demographics are important to us.
The impact we have on our environment is something we care deeply about. We are working towards carbon neutrality by 2023.
SUSTAINABILITY
Through our donations made to Carbonfund.org, we work to offset our carbon footprint and keep the impact we have on the environment to minimal levels. Our CEO is an ethical vegan who cares deeply about the flora and fauna of our planet.
As much as we’d love to ship your accessories in fancy and aesthetically pleasing packaging, it’s just not an option for us. Packaging like that is bad for our planet and most, if not all of it ends up in landfills. So we keep our packaging as minimal as possible, only using what’s necessary to ensure your items arrive safe and sound.
We ship our products directly from our manufacturers to keep carbon emissions as low as possible. This is why our items typically take 2-4 weeks to arrive. We hope to eventually have manufacturers in the U.S. and all over the globe in order to drastically reduce not only our shipping times but our C02 emissions. This is currently far out of our reach as we are still a very small business but we’ll get there someday.
