We began to make candles and bath products to keep our hands and minds busy. It was necessary just to breathe in smells reminiscent of memories of friends and family that brought comfort. THE NAME
Ibeji (E-beh-gee) is the word for twins in Yoruba which are a tribe of people in Nigeria. Did you know Nigeria has the highest population of twins anywhere in the world? They are sacred and yes they run in our family.
The Ibeji are also known as Orishas in the Yoruba religion and although there are two, the Orisha is considered one. Stories of the Ibeji show playful pranksters with a zest for life. They are the Orishas of joy, glee and mischief. The Gemini in astrology closely resemble them.
The Ibeji and all twins of this world are considered to have one soul in two bodies. Hence the reason my wife and I chose the name for our company. We are twin flames that are reflections of each other.
